Procurement and Sourcing Executive

Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure FMCG and grocery products (perishables and non-perishables).
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, wholesalers, and distributors across North India.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure best value and availability.
• Monitor stock levels and place timely purchase orders in line with demand forecasts.
• Coordinate with category managers, warehouse teams, and store/e-commerce operations for smooth replenishment.
• Evaluate supplier performance, resolve supply issues, and maintain vendor records.
• Ensure all procurement complies with quality, hygiene, safety, and legal standards (FSSAI, GST, etc.).
• Work closely with merchandising and planning teams to support seasonal and promotional sourcing.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, product innovation, and local sourcing initiatives.
• Analyse market trends, competitor pricing, and customer preferences to support sourcing decisions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in FMCG, grocery, or food retail.
• Knowledge of sourcing in a multi-channel retail environment (brick-and-mortar + online).
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management tools (SAP, Zoho, Oracle, etc.).
• Understanding of regional supply chain dynamics and local supplier networks in North India.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel locally for supplier visits and audits.

Preferred:

• Experience working with quick commerce or e-grocery platforms.
• Exposure to perishable sourcing (fruits, vegetables, dairy, etc.).
• Multilingual proficiency (e.g., Hindi, Punjabi, local dialects).
