Position: Tax Manager - Financial Services Roles & responsibilities: Responsible for the review and preparation of compliance and tax planning for financial services clients such as hedge funds, investment banking, private equity, brokerage and other investment firms. Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise. Provide primary and secondary reviews of complex tax returns and be comfortable with tax compliance. Create and work on firm-wide initiatives for financial services tax issues. Provide innovative tax planning strategies and compliance expertise to clients. Keep abreast of legislative and tax policy changes at both Federal and State levels. Will be heavily involved with the marketing and networking within the financial services industry. Delivering a full range of Partnership tax services for Financial Services Clients in compliance with laws and regulations within a timeframe. Responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients. Lead client relationships on day-to-day tax matters supporting partners with service execution and development of extended services. Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with the client to provide superior client service. You will be responsible for identifying tax issues and proposing potential solutions to resolve them. As a part of our client's team, you will have an opportunity to work seamlessly with US counter parts by utilizing our state-of-the-art technology and electronic office tools and processes Manage, train, and develop staff. Participate in the performance review process. Involved in Client Engagement and delivery management for the deliverables. Conduct extensive financial research on Investment, Partnership withholding matrices, composite matrices and partnership matrices. Required skills and Knowledge: 6+ years prior experience in public accounting and tax. Big 4 experience a plus. Strong accounting and analytical skills. Strong executive presence along with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Considerable experience as a team leader: supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; and coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback. An effective communicator with excellent co-ordination, decision making and problem-solving skills. Possess efficient managerial qualities, decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-accountability more of pro-active approach, less follow-up needed, take ownership in the assigned activities, self-motivated and willingness to take initiatives.
