Parts Quality Engineer- LC4 Localization & Cylinder Headcover casting

Purpose of the Position:

1) Localization Expert of Casting, Forging, precision machining

2) Develop local supplier to achieve required quality maturity of Parts as per project milestones.

3) Evaluate, approve and qualify local supplier (Process and Product approval, Qualification of new parts (QPNi)

4) Plan, Steer & Implement critical processes with controls for Casting, Forging, Machining & Heat treatment

5) Establish Sustainable process by Machine and Process capability MFU and PFU as per standard VW10130 and VW10131

6) Facilitate technical expertise to Suppliers to localize parts as per VW Group standard/technical requirements. 7) Define, report & monitor Local Parts KPIs : Targets for Line Disruption & PPM for respective local Suppliers

8) Development of new local part at local supplier, process & parts approval through tools like Formel Q, QTR, QPNi, LION, BeOn, TEVON, 2DP, KPM

9) Conduct QTR, FMEA including lessons learnt & recommendation of supplier based on evaluation (QTR) 10) Decision making in supplier selection in terms QTR rating based on evaluation

11) Quality Issue closure in KPM Halle for local purchase parts.

12) KPM Halle Defect monitoring in system, timely closure with proper 8D from supplier

13) Prepare and execute the safe launch activity as per plan during ramp up and series phase

14) Technical alignment and networking with Expert BTV from Skoda MB & VW Chemnitz for LC4 localization

15) Commitment sheet signoff & monitoring : evaluate & release Note 3/ Note 1 as per Project milestone

16) Agree & define technical factors with suppliers & continuous review till SOP

Authority:

• Quality approval of purchased parts as per agreed timeline & project milestones
• Authorized to reject non-confirming Local Parts
• Decision making to Hold, segregate, rework & release of respective Local part
• Charge back to Local suppliers in case of Line disruptions & downtime
• Evaluate and recommend release of local parts based on sampling process
• Managing Supplier escalation in Gas-Ti up to level 0

Skills Required:

• Knowledge and hands on experience of Engine Components Manufacturing Processes and critical parts: Casting, Forging and machining process
• Application knowledge of Softwares like Hyper KVS, BeON, KPM Halle, TEVON, AVON and NOLIS
• Knowledge of QMS ISO9001/IATF16469, VDA6.3 audit system.
• Knowledge of VW Group requirement for QEP function like QPN, QTR or equivalent APQP & PPAP processes
• Knowledge of technical drawings, GD&T & Process capabilities

Steer Localization integrating lesson learnt from Type Leader : VW Chemnitz

• Plan, Organize & Steer VW Group lesson learnt & integrate the corrective measures

LC4 localization : Strategic Functions

• Implementation of strategies for supplier qualification processes for LC4 localization
• Organize QTR evaluation for Local supplier selection with VW Group Experts

PQE Function : Local parts development, approval & release

• QTR: Supplier capabilities evaluation & decision making in supplier selection
• Define Sample Approval timeline & Control Plan
• Co-ordinate for Supplier VDA Audit & ensure implementation of action
• Handholding for New Supplier by supporting them to fulfill Group requirements
• PPA sign off and submission in BeOn
• Measurement Co-relation between supplier measurement and SAVW Measurement
• Ensure parts are produced at supplier end within drawing tolerance
• Preparation & participation in Engine Pre Series release milestones at Pilot Hall
• Review Product Audit reports for applicable local parts
• Supplier Visits : Review & Monitor production system & process during Pre Series till Market Introduction
• 2DP: Organize & approve Parts for production & closure of open points
• Part Life Cycle Management : Closure of defects from Various Q Gates during Series
• Field Failure Analysis : Support in analysis & implementation of identified measures at Supplier
