Oracle Essbase Consultant

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Oracle Essbase applications (BSO/ASO cubes) for financial reporting and analytics.
• Build interactive dashboards and reports in Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) using Oracle tools.
• Collaborate with finance teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and implement ETL processes to integrate data from various financial systems.
• Optimize Essbase performance through tuning, scripting, and cube restructuring.
• Create and maintain calculation scripts, member formulas, and business rules.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems.
• Document technical specifications and provide user training/support.
• Understand and support FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis functions.
• Interpret financial metrics and KPIs for executive reporting.
• Work cross-functionally with finance and IT teams.

Required Skills (5+ years of experience):

• Oracle Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Smart View.
• Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) / OBIEE / Any reporting tool experience.
• Experience with Anaplan or Tagetik is a plus.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Expertise in financial data modeling and multidimensional database design.
• Proficiency with ETL tools (e.g., Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica).
• Experience in scripting languages (e.g., MaxL, MDX, Groovy, Python is a plus).
• Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Oracle Cloud certifications related to Essbase/OAC.
• Familiarity with financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Experience in financial systems implementation or migration projects.
