A Medical Store Keeper is responsible for managing the inventory of medical supplies and equipment within a healthcare setting. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing supplies, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the overall organization and cleanliness of the medical store. They also play a role in inventory control, including monitoring stock levels, preventing losses, and managing expiry dates. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate records of all medical supplies and equipment, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring timely restocking. This includes receiving, inspecting, and verifying shipments, as well as organizing and labeling items for easy retrieval. Order Processing: Receiving and processing orders for medical supplies, verifying items against invoices, and ensuring proper shelving. Storage and Maintenance: Ensuring proper storage conditions for all medical supplies and equipment, including temperature control and adherence to storage guidelines. Regularly checking for expired items and safely disposing of them. Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all transactions, including receipts, issues, and inventory levels. This may involve using computerized systems for record-keeping. Compliance: Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations, as well as store policies and procedures. Customer Assistance: Providing assistance to customers (if applicable), answering inquiries about medicines and supplies, and potentially recommending products under the guidance of a pharmacist. Stock Audits: Conducting regular physical counts of inventory to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies. Reporting: Preparing reports on stock levels, consumption, and reorder requirements. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including the medical store premises. Supervision and Training: May be involved in supervising other store staff and providing training on store procedures.
