Job Description : .NET Developer (VB6/.NET Migration Focus) Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and experienced .NET Developer with 3-5 years of experience to join our team. This role will primarily focus on developing and maintaining applications using .NET technologies, with a strong emphasis on migrating legacy VB6.0 applications to C# or VB.NET. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of .NET frameworks, SQL Server, and Crystal Reports, along with experience in web development and database integration. Key Responsibilities : Legacy Migration : - Analyze and migrate legacy VB6.0 applications to modern .NET platforms (C# or VB.NET). - Develop and maintain applications using .NET C# and VB.NET. Database Integration : - Integrate multiple data sources and databases (SQL Server, Oracle, JSON) into a unified system. - Design and implement efficient database queries and stored procedures. - Work with SQL server. Web Development : - Develop web applications using ASP.NET MVC and IIS. - Implement front-end functionalities using JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML5, and CSS3. Reporting : - Design and develop reports using Crystal Reports. - Experience in Reporting services Crystal reports. Testing and Documentation : - Create and document comprehensive test cases and technical specifications. - Perform thorough unit testing and debugging. System Integration and Security : - Implement user authentication and authorization mechanisms across multiple systems, servers, and environments. - Ensure secure data handling and application security. Application Design and Development : - Apply fundamental design principles to create scalable and maintainable applications. - Develop event-driven applications for both web and client platforms. - Optimize application output for various delivery platforms (mobile, desktop). Communication and Collaboration : - Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently, meeting business expectations. Required Skills and Experience : .NET Development : - 3-5 years of experience developing with .NET technologies (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET). - Strong proficiency in .NET C# and VB.NET. - Experience with VB 6. Database Skills : - Strong experience with SQL Server. - Experience integrating with Oracle and JSON data sources. Web Development : - Experience with ASP.NET MVC and IIS. - Proficiency in front-end technologies (JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3). Reporting : - Experience with Crystal Reports. Testing and Documentation : - Experience in creating and documenting test cases and technical specifications. - Strong unit test and debugging skills. Communication : - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Application Design : - Understanding of fundamental design principles for scalable applications. - Familiarity with event-driven programming. System Integration : - Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems. Platform Understanding : - Understanding of the differences between multiple delivery platforms. Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with .NET Core. - Knowledge of Agile development methodologies. - Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). - Experience with cloud platforms
