Key Responsibilities: Lead and direct R&D initiatives focused on ceramic-based porcelain insulators for transmission, distribution, and railway sectors. Drive innovation in ceramic compositions, glaze preparation, and manufacturing processes to improve performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Develop and test new insulator designs to meet international electrical standards and customer-specific requirements. Ensure the thermal, mechanical, and electrical stability of products through rigorous testing and validation. Mentor and develop a capable R&D team to support advanced research and technology projects. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing teams for commercialization of new products. Stay updated with the latest trends in ceramic science, material innovation, and global insulator standards. Engage in strategic problem-solving to address performance issues, process optimization, and material cost reduction. Candidate Profile: Education: B.Tech/M.Tech or Ph.D. in Ceramics Engineering or Materials Science. Experience: Minimum 20 years in ceramic R&D, preferably in electrical insulators or similar ceramic-based industries. Demonstrated expertise in glaze formulation, raw material behaviour, firing cycles, and electrical insulation properties. Proven track record of developing and launching new ceramic products. Should be working currently as Head R&D or in a strong No. 2 role with full exposure to the R&D lifecycle. Hands-on approach with strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
