Job Summary:

The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for listening to audio recordings made by physicians and other healthcare professionals and converting them into accurate, written medical reports, correspondence, and other documents. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, grammar, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Listen to and transcribe dictations by physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of medical reports.
• Return transcribed documents to healthcare providers in a timely manner for review and signature.
• Meet established productivity and quality standards.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary training in medical transcription or medical terminology preferred.
• Certification (e.g.,

  Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT)

  or

  Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist (RHDS)

  ) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
• Excellent listening, grammar, and typing skills.
• Familiarity with Related systems and transcription software.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience in a healthcare or clinical documentation setting.
• Fast and accurate typing (generally 35+ WPM).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and manage workload efficiently.
