Mechanical Draughtsman (Sheet Metal)

Dear Candidate,

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Draughtsman with expertise in sheet metal fabrication and retail store fixture design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing technical drawings, manufacturing-ready detailing, and complete BOM/BOQ documentation for production and client approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for sheet metal products, components, and retail fixtures.
• Convert design briefs and sketches into production-ready technical drawings.
• Develop accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for each project.
• Ensure drawings comply with material standards, production tolerances, and fabrication processes.
• Coordinate with the production, procurement, and design teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability.
• Revise drawings as per feedback from project managers, clients, or fabrication vendors.
• Maintain organized documentation of all revisions and version control of designs.
• Support cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and project planning with accurate technical inputs.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
• Strong understanding of sheet metal design principles, joinery techniques, and fabrication methods
• Knowledge of retail fixture design (racks, counters, displays, etc.) is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good understanding of standard materials (MS, SS, aluminum, Wood etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and documentation
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in drafting, preferably in sheet metal or retail fixtures
• Familiarity with fabrication workflows and vendor/shop floor coordination is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
