In this position you will be a part of the Design Consulting Team based at our corporate office located in Bangalore, India. You will be accountable for the technical delivery at project level and provide adequate technical support to ensure technical outputs to meet the project delivery requirements as well as meet the project affordability with timescales agreed with the customer. The role reports to the Team Head for Integrated technical delivery and project management. Role Overview We are seeking a Technical Lead Power Systems to lead conceptual network design and simulation-driven consulting projects within our Design & Consulting Group. This role combines advanced power system design with deep technical studies in transient and steady state network behaviour. The ideal candidate brings both concept-level network engineering and analytical capabilities to guide industrial, utility, and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities A. Technical Leadership Lead multidisciplinary power system projects from concept design through detailed study and delivery. Define and validate network architecture , including voltage levels, interconnection strategy, equipment placement, and fault-handling logic. Supervise modeling methodologies using advanced simulation tools (ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP-RV, DigSILENT, CDEGS). Mentor junior engineers and analysts in system modeling, data interpretation, and engineering reporting. B. Conceptual Design & System Studies Develop and validate power system configurations, including: Load flow and network sizing Protection coordination and breaker rating strategy Transient overvoltage and insulation coordination GPR studies, lightning risk assessments, and surge protection placement Harmonics and reactive power planning Translate high-level functional requirements into engineering schematics, SLDs, and system philosophies . Provide design and study inputs aligned with real-world deployment constraints and safety regulations. C. Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with internal design teams for technical alignment. Lead technical presentations, client meetings, and regulatory submissions. Interpret simulation results and design philosophy into decision-ready engineering reports . D. Process Development & Innovation Build reusable templates and workflows for concept-stage engineering and simulation. Identify knowledge gaps and drive team learning through internal sessions and tool development. Contribute to whitepapers, and technical publications in the domain of power systems and ESR. Required Skills & Qualifications M.Tech / B.E. in Power Systems / Electrical Engineering. 8-12 years of experience in power system conceptual design and simulation consulting. Hands-on expertise with ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP-RV, CDEGS, and DigSILENT PowerFactory . Strong foundation in system architecture, transient analysis, protection, and grounding. Familiarity with IEEE 80, IEEE 519, IEC 60071, and other applicable standards. Excellent communication, report writing, and client-facing presentation skills. Preferred Attributes Experience designing power systems for utilities, metros, oil & gas, or high-reliability industrial assets. Exposure to HV/EHV networks, GIS substations, and hybrid AC-DC systems. Strong interest in innovation and system design methodologies .
