Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using
COBOL, JCL, DB2
.
Analyze and implement change requests, enhancements, and bug fixes across various modules.
Collaborate with business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Ensure quality delivery through detailed
unit testing, UTP/UTR documentation
, and code reviews.
Participate in
production support
activities, including issue triage, root cause analysis, and permanent fixes.
Work in coordination with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams in an Agile or Waterfall environment.
Ensure timely updates to stakeholders and documentation of technical and functional artifacts.

Preferred candidate profile

7-12 years
of strong hands-on experience in
COBOL, JCL, DB2
.
Working knowledge of
CICS
(BMS screens, pseudo-conversational programming, TDQ/TSQ handling).
Exposure to
production support
and experience in resolving job abends, working with CA7 or similar scheduling tools.
Strong knowledge of
SDLC
(both Agile and Waterfall methodologies).
Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
