Job Description

Role & responsibilities

VMware Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

Administer, maintain, and support VMware vSphere and vCenter environments.
Perform virtual machine provisioning, cloning, snapshot management, and storage assignments.
Manage and monitor Hyper-V infrastructure, including VM lifecycle and performance tuning.
Conduct patch management, system updates, and backup/recovery of virtual machines.
Implement and monitor high availability, DRS, vMotion, and Storage vMotion as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve ESXi host and VM-related issues promptly.
Assist in capacity planning and resource optimization across virtual environments.
Maintain documentation related to configurations, SOPs, and infrastructure changes.
Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of
VMware vSphere

vCenter
, and
Hyper-V

Experience with
ESXi host configuration
,
datastore management
, and
resource allocation
.
Familiarity with
backup solutions

disaster recovery
, and
VM migration techniques
.
Basic understanding of networking and storage in virtualized environments.
Good troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar certifications (preferred).
Exposure to scripting (Power CLI/PowerShell) for automation (a plus).
Familiarity with tools like Veeam, Zerto, or other backup/replication tools.
