Lighting Designer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Develop conceptual and schematic lighting designs using software like AutoCAD , Revit , AGi32 , Dialux , and Bluebeam . Use Bluebeam to review, annotate, and coordinate lighting design documents with internal teams and external stakeholders. Prepare lighting layout plans, fixture schedules, and detailed documentation for design packages and construction documents. Coordinate with architects, interior designers, engineers, and contractors throughout design and construction phases. Select and specify lighting fixtures and control systems based on aesthetics, performance, and budget. Perform photometric calculations to ensure optimal lighting performance and code compliance. Participate in client meetings and presentations, conveying design intent effectively. Stay up-to-date with trends in lighting technology, controls, codes (e.g., Title 24, IECC), and sustainability. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 1 - 5 years of professional experience in lighting design. Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu for PDF markup, collaboration, and document management. Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD , Revit , AGi32 , Dialux , Adobe Creative Suite , and MS Office . Strong understanding of lighting technologies, controls, codes, and sustainability best practices. Excellent communication, coordination, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: LC (Lighting Certified) or other relevant certifications. LEED Accreditation is a plus. Familiarity with BIM workflows and construction document management.
