Level 3 Network Administrator

Position Overview:

The Level 3 Network Administrator is responsible for the advanced management and troubleshooting of the organization's network infrastructure. This role requires specialized expertise in switching, routing, BGP, Meraki Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) and access points, and FortiGate firewalls. The candidate will ensure the network's reliability, security, and optimal performance while providing strong operational support and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Design and Implementation:

• Design, implement, and manage complex network architectures to meet evolving business needs.
• Configure and maintain network devices including switches, routers, and wireless access points.

Routing and Switching:

• Manage and optimize routing protocols such as BGP to ensure efficient and reliable data transmission.
• Implement and maintain Layer 2 technologies like VLANs and STP to enhance network efficiency.

Wireless Network Management:

• Deploy and manage Meraki Wireless LAN Controllers and access points for seamless wireless connectivity.
• Utilize Meraki's cloud-based dashboard for wireless network monitoring and configuration.

Security and Firewall Management:

• Configure and manage FortiGate firewalls to safeguard network security.
• Develop and enforce security policies to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.

Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

• Use advanced network monitoring tools to identify and resolve network issues proactively.
• Perform root cause analysis for network outages and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
• Provide strong troubleshooting support for network operations, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams and configuration records.
• Prepare detailed reports on network performance, security incidents, and capacity planning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet NSE, or Meraki CMNO are highly desirable.
• Extensive experience with network protocols and technologies, including BGP, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco, Meraki, and FortiGate devices.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on operational troubleshooting and support.
