Description
The Lead Design Engineering position at Ameriprise India LLP involves actively contributing to the development efforts related to cloud technologies. In this role, you will collaborate with vendor/contractor partners to devise and execute detailed design, configuration, and engineering strategies to deliver cloud engineering solutions while prioritizing security, uptime, and performance. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex problems and providing functional engineering leadership and direction to cloud teams encompassing employees, contract personnel, and vendor partners. This leadership will be dedicated to portfolios of technical business applications and services, including operational maintenance, production support, incident management, development support, and proactive/preventative analysis. Additionally, you will focus on the development of a custom governance automation platform and act as the technical point-person and cloud expert for various issues, needs, and project activities across multiple areas of responsibility. Key Responsibilities: - Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining Ansible Automation Platform, including managing playbooks, workflows, and job templates. - Proficiency in working with multi-account architecture in AWS and hands-on experience with landing zone design. - Designing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments. - In-depth understanding and hands-on experience of AWS services such as AWS Org, IAM, S3, AWS LAMBDA, VPCs, CloudFormation, etc. - Implementing and managing scalable and highly available cloud architectures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Jenkins and Ansible Playbooks. - Proficiency in Jenkins Groovy scripting for pipeline as code, designing and optimizing complex Jenkins pipelines, managing shared libraries, and integrating with tools like Terraform, Chekov, and AWS services. - Designing and developing cloud-native automation solutions using Python. - Preference for candidates with Terraform, AWS certification, and Azure experience. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Providing oversight and leadership to the cloud team, delegating and prioritizing work to ensure effective execution of team deliverables. - Facilitating knowledge transfer and cross-training within the team to support product maintenance and documentation effectively. - Driving the proliferation of existing technology investments and capabilities to enhance business efficiencies. Required Qualifications: - 7-10 years of Software Development experience in a professional environment or equivalent. - Demonstrated experience in leading a team of Technical Engineers. - Hands-on expertise in application design, software development, and automated testing. - At least 5 years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud with any programming language and Operating system. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Demonstrated problem-solving ability in the technology space and the capacity to influence and optimize input from key stakeholders. - Ability to participate in and contribute to multiple work streams simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelors/Masters Degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or relevant technical field. - Proven experience in AWS, Azure, and Python development.
