Job Description

Job Description: As a Junior Game Tester at Ubisoft in the Quality Control department on a 1-year contract, you will be responsible for assessing the quality of video games through manual and partial automated testing. Your role will involve finding and reporting bugs and glitches to ensure that the games, features, and systems work correctly. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for video games, we are looking forward to meeting you. Reporting to the QC LEAD, your core responsibilities will include creating and documenting test cases covering 100% of the game/feature design, executing test cases and test plans, analyzing and updating test results, reporting encountered bugs in the bug database (Jira), and performing Functionality, Regression, Sanity, and Smoke testing. You will also need to complete assigned tasks with the expected level of quality within the given time frame, keep track of reported issues, and adapt quickly to tasks, processes, and changes within the project, QC, and organization to ensure the best player experience. In terms of technical knowledge, you should understand the game/assigned feature design with the help of design documents, evaluate test results based on specifications and expectations provided in the design documents, and troubleshoot platform-related technical and debug issues. Collaboration is essential in this role, so you should proactively raise major issues to senior team members, share updates, raise valid queries, communicate authentically, and contribute ideas. Additionally, you should be able to provide accurate daily task coverage reports with detailed information. Technical competencies required for this role include basic knowledge of various gaming genres, adaptability to different project genres, familiarity with gaming platforms and tools, functional knowledge of MS Office tools, and the ability to perform compatibility, interrupt, localization, and network tests. Behavioral competencies such as focus, attention to detail, collaboration, communication skills, respectfulness, passion for the job, professionalism, learning from mistakes, autonomy, integrity, and adherence to confidentiality guidelines are highly valued. Preferred skills for the Junior Game Tester role at Ubisoft include familiarity with manual testing methodologies, experience with bug databases (Jira, Dev Track, Bugzilla), knowledge of bug lifecycle concept, passion for gaming, and ISTQB certification in manual Testing & Automation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders such as Senior Testers, Associate QC lead, QC lead, Sr QC Lead, and QC Project Manager, as well as external stakeholders like Dev Testers if required. At Ubisoft, we offer a hybrid work model to help you stay connected with your team and aligned with business priorities while maintaining work-life balance. Please note that some roles may be fully office-based and not eligible for hybrid work. Join us in creating the unknown and pushing the boundaries of entertainment!,
