Job Title: Senior SQL Server DBA + Application DBA Overview: This role is responsible for administering Microsoft SQL Servers, including implementation, performance tuning, maintenance, backup/recovery, security, auditing, production support, and architecting technical solutions. This role also involves designing, maintaining, and securing databases to support application performance, business continuity, and user access needs. Key Responsibilities: Database Management : Architect, design, deploy, and maintain SQL databases and clusters. Ensure performance, availability, and security. Performance Optimization : Optimize performance through query tuning, indexing, and configuration. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. High Availability & Disaster Recovery : Implement HA/DR solutions using Always On, Replication, Log shipping, etc. Test disaster recovery and data restoration processes. Security & Compliance : Develop and enforce standards, procedures, and security protocols. Manage user access and permissions. Monitoring & Maintenance : Proactively monitor database systems, automate routine tasks, and maintain documentation. Support & Collaboration : Provide leadership in business recovery strategies, support developers and users, and conduct knowledge transfer sessions Skills & Qualifications: Experience : 8+ years as a DBA with MS SQL Server, including senior-level roles. 5+ years as an application DBA is a must. Technical Skills : Performance tuning, backups, restores, recovery models, HA/DR options, Active Directory, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, SQL Server Monitoring tools (SQL Sentry a plus), Windows PowerShell, Splunk.
