Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Design of hydraulic structures including spillways, energy dissipators, stilling basins, intake structures, penstocks, headrace channels, surge shafts, and tailrace tunnels.
Hydraulic modeling using numerical and analytical methods (e.g., flow through channels, orifices, spillways, pipes, and open/closed conduits).
Involve in sediment transport studies and siltation analysis for reservoir and waterways.
Perform hydrological analysis for inflow design floods (IDF), PMF, and flood routing studies.
Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, and environmental teams for integrated design approach.
Prepare design drawings, specifications, design reports, and BOQs.
Participate in field investigations, site visits, and assessment of hydraulic performance of existing or proposed structures.
Provide technical support during tendering and construction phases.
Review and evaluate designs from third-party consultants or sub-contractors.
Ensure compliance with national and international standards, codes, and guidelines (IS, BIS, USBR, ICOLD, etc.).
