Computer Hardware Engineer Responsibilities & Duties
Design, develop, and test computer hardware components and systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware with software systemsPerform thorough testing and debugging of hardware componentsAnalyze and resolve technical issues related to hardware componentsDevelop technical documentation for hardware designs and systemsStay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in computer hardware engineeringProvide technical support to customers and other stakeholders as needed.
Computer Hardware Engineer Qualifications & SkillsMasters degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldExperience with FPGA, PLC, or embedded systems developmentProficiency in hardware description languages (HDLs) such as VHDL or VerilogKnowledge of circuit design and simulation toolsExperience in high-speed digital designFamiliarity with hardware security measuresStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesExperience with debugging and testing hardwareBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldExpertise in hardware design, development, and testingIn-depth knowledge of computer systems and components, including processors, memory, and peripheralsExperience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, such as Altium Designer or Eagle PCBExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
