Estimate Maker & Product Purchaser (with AutoCAD Knowledge)

You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for architectural and interior design projects, sourcing and purchasing construction materials/products, and providing basic AutoCAD support to the design team. This hybrid role involves cost planning, procurement, and drafting assistance to ensure project success. Analyzing architectural drawings and specifications, you will determine material and labor requirements, collaborating with architects and engineers to clarify project scope and cost impacts. Your duties will include sourcing and negotiating with suppliers/vendors for best pricing, quality, and lead times, creating and managing purchase orders, and maintaining an up-to-date database of material costs, suppliers, and product alternatives. Utilizing AutoCAD, you will assist with quantity take-offs, minor drawing edits, and material annotations. Working closely with project managers, you will align budgets and procurement timelines, participate in cost control and value engineering exercises, and coordinate material deliveries to site as necessary. Your ability to handle multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines will be essential. To qualify, you should have proven experience as an estimator and/or procurement officer in an architectural, construction, or interior design firm, with a strong understanding of construction materials, finishes, and systems. Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, good communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and organizational proficiency are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other estimation or procurement software is expected, along with a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of local building materials, suppliers, and pricing trends, experience with cost estimating software, and familiarity with architectural processes and terminology.
