Description
You are a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Catalog Analyst with expertise in erwin Data Intelligence Suite (DIS), particularly the erwin Data Catalog module. Your main responsibility will be to build and maintain a centralized metadata repository that enables data discovery, lineage, and governance across the enterprise. You will configure, implement, and maintain the erwin Data Catalog to support enterprise metadata management. It will be your duty to harvest metadata from various data sources such as databases, ETL tools, BI platforms, etc., ensuring accuracy and completeness. Your role will involve developing and maintaining data lineage, impact analysis, and data flow documentation. Collaboration with data stewards, business analysts, and IT teams is essential for defining and enforcing metadata standards and governance policies. You will also support the creation and maintenance of business glossaries, technical metadata, and data dictionaries. Ensuring metadata is accessible and well-organized to enable data discovery and self-service analytics will be one of your priorities. You are expected to provide training and support to business and technical users on effectively using the erwin platform. Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues related to metadata ingestion and cataloging will also be part of your responsibilities. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Additionally, you should have at least 3 years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or enterprise data architecture. Hands-on experience with erwin DIS, especially erwin Data Catalog and erwin Data Modeler, is required. Knowledge of other tools like Collibra, Atlasian, etc., can also be considered. A strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK) is necessary. You should be familiar with relational databases, data warehouses, and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), along with proficiency in SQL and data profiling tools. Preferred skills for this role include experience with other data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation), knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA), strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, knowledge of creating documentation, experience with Agile methodology, and the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.,
