Description
We are looking for a talented Engineer to join our Product Design team, contributing to both New Product Design and Sustenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and communication skills, along with hands-on experience in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks/Solid Edge). In this role, your responsibilities will include generating ideas, developing concepts, and designing both new products and improvements to existing products. You will be required to perform hand calculations and GD&T stack-up analysis, demonstrate a good understanding of engineering principles, and provide CAD (SolidWorks/Solid Edge) support for New Product Development (NPD) and Sustenance projects. Additionally, you will lead cost-saving and quality improvement initiatives, implement DFMA practices in product design, execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) efficiently, contribute to the development and testing of functional prototypes, manage costed Bill of Materials (BOM), and utilize PLM tools such as Teamcenter. Prioritizing tasks effectively to meet customer expectations and deadlines, as well as clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, are crucial aspects of the role. We are looking for individuals who can comfortably relate with people across levels, functions, cultures, and geography. You should be self-motivated, self-driven, team-oriented, result-driven, interested in learning and problem-solving, and able to collaborate with other function groups such as Electronics Hardware, Firmware, and Sourcing Teams. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering Graduate with a good academic record and a minimum of 3 to 6 years of work experience after graduation. Possessing good CAD knowledge, preferably in Solid Works, and having knowledge of Casting, Plastic, or forging part design considerations will be advantageous. Knowledge of ASME 14.5, good communication skills to convey ideas and thoughts to global clients, experience in Appliance product design, and being a quick learner are also desired qualifications.
