Job Overview:

Hydroscope is looking for a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to develop firmware for embedded IoT devices used in real-time water monitoring systems. The ideal candidate will work on sensor integration, low-power embedded systems, wireless communication protocols, and real-time data processing.

This role requires expertise in firmware architecture, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and IoT security protocols to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of our sensor-based IoT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Firmware & Embedded Systems Development:

• Develop, test, and optimize firmware for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, ESP32, STM32, etc.).
• Implement low-power embedded firmware solutions for battery-operated IoT sensors.
• Design and optimize real-time firmware for data acquisition, processing, and wireless communication.
• Interface with various sensors (analog, digital, I2C, SPI, UART, Modbus, SDI-12, etc.) for real-time water quality monitoring.
• Develop and optimize wireless communication protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, LoRa, BLE, NB-IoT, and Wi-Fi.

Performance Optimization & Security:

• Optimize firmware for power efficiency, reliability, and real-time data transmission.
• Ensure secure boot, encryption, and secure communication between IoT devices and cloud infrastructure.
• Implement OTA (Over-the-Air) firmware updates for remote device management.

Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

• Education:

  Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Electrical, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Computer Science.

• Experience:

  3+ years in firmware development and embedded systems.

• Programming Languages:

  Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and embedded development.

• Microcontrollers & Embedded Platforms:

  Strong experience with ARM Cortex, ESP32, STM32, PIC, and Atmel.

• Communication Protocols:

  Expertise in UART, SPI, I2C, RS485, Modbus, MQTT, LoRa, BLE, and NB-IoT.

• Security & OTA Updates:

  Experience with firmware security, encrypted communication, and OTA firmware updates.

• Debugging & Testing Tools:

  Familiarity with JTAG, oscilloscope, logic analysers, and hardware debugging tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with IoT security protocols and secure firmware development.
• Exposure to industrial IoT (IIoT) and water management solutions.
