post-graduate levelRole & responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Program Management: Oversee all aspects of the sports program, including budgeting, facility management, and equipment. Leadership and Supervision: Supervise coaching staff, support staff, and student-athletes, providing guidance and leadership. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for the sports program, including goals, objectives, and initiatives. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure adherence to university policies, NCAA regulations, and other relevant guidelines. Student-Athlete Development: Mentor student-athletes, focusing on their academic progress, character development, and athletic achievements. Fundraising and Community Engagement: Organize fundraising events and engage with alumni, parents, and the local community to support the program. Communication and Public Relations: Maintain effective communication with students, coaches, staff, and the media. Facility Management: Ensure the maintenance and proper use of athletic facilities and equipment. Additional Responsibilities: Coordinating Events: Organize and manage sports events, including competitions, tournaments, and special events. Ensuring Fair Play: Promote fair play and sportsmanship among student-athletes. Promoting Sports: Cultivate excellence in sports and promote a spirit of healthy competition. Training and Development: Facilitate training and coaching for student-athletes, including skill development camps. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports on the performance and progress of the sports program. Preferred candidate profile Eligibility (A or B). A. i) A Ph.D. in Physical Education or Physical Education and Sports ,or Sports Science. Candidates from outside the university system, in addition, shall also possess at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) at the Master's Degree level by the university concerned. ii) Eight years experience as University Assistant DPES/College DPES. iii) Evidence of organizing competitions and conducting coaching camps of at least two weeks duration. iv) Evidence of having produced good performance of teams/athletes for competitions like state/national/inter-university/combined university, etc. v) Passed the physical fitness test in accordance with these Regulations. OR B. An Olympic games/ world cup/World Championship medal winner who has a degree at least at the Post-Graduation Level.
