Job Description

Job Summary:

The Deputy General Manager Dry Cooler Manufacturing will lead the end-to-end

manufacturing operations of dry coolers, ensuring high productivity, quality standards, and

delivery timelines. The role involves overseeing production planning, process optimization,

manpower management, quality assurance, and coordination with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production & Operations Management

• Lead daily manufacturing operations for dry coolers, ensuring output as per

production schedules.

• Optimize production processes for coil fabrication, sheet metal assembly, fan

installation, and final testing.

• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency benchmarks.

2. Planning & Coordination

• Develop and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production plans in alignment with

sales forecasts and order pipeline.

• Coordinate with supply chain, quality, design, and maintenance teams to ensure

smooth execution.

• Monitor raw material consumption, WIP, and finished goods inventory to minimize

costs.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure product quality through in-process inspections and end-of-line testing.

• Lead implementation of quality systems like ISO 9001, 5S, and Kaizen.

• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions

(CAPA) for non-conformities.

4. Process Improvement & Cost Control

• Identify bottlenecks and drive lean manufacturing initiatives.

• Implement continuous improvement (CI), value engineering, and Six Sigma practices.

• Work closely with design and R&D to enhance manufacturability and reduce

rework/rejection.

5. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead a team of supervisors, engineers, and operators across multiple shifts.

• Define KRAs, review team performance, and support training & skill development

initiatives.

• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

6. Capex, Maintenance & Facility Management

• Recommend and execute capital improvement projects to modernize equipment and

layout.

• Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules for plant equipment and

tools.

• Ensure workplace safety and compliance with environmental and statutory norms.

Qualifications:

Education:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (mandatory)

• Postgraduate qualification in Operations Management (preferred)

Experience:

• 12–18 years in a manufacturing setup, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in heat

exchangers or HVAC product manufacturing

• Hands-on experience in dry cooler manufacturing is highly desirable

Skills & Competencies:

Technical:

• Sound knowledge of coil production, welding, brazing, sheet metal assembly, and

testing processes

• Familiar with lean tools: 5S, Kaizen, TPM, SMED, Six Sigma, etc.

• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and manufacturing KPIs

Managerial:

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination

• Ability to work under pressure with a focus on results

Preferred Certifications:

• Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt

• ISO 9001 / 14001 / OHSAS 18001 implementation experience
