Description
As a Design Engineer (Electrical DC) in the Renewables department under the BU EDRC (Renewables - SAARC & ASEAN), your primary responsibility will be to prepare and execute various engineering activities related to Solar PV Power Plants. Reporting to the Design Lead - Solar, you will lead a team of Draughts Persons to manage engineering activities within budget, deliver on time, and maintain a high quality of engineering. Your key responsibilities will include designing large-scale Grid connected and OFF Grid PV plants, preparing solar plant layouts, SLDs, and Design Basis reports, as well as conducting generation and shading analysis using PVSYST software. You will be involved in technical aspects such as yield estimation, performance of the plant, solar modules & inverters, string monitoring box, solar system sizing, battery sizing, earthing & lightning protection, and knowledge of layouts & schemes/SLD. Additionally, you will be responsible for budgetary proposals, tendering jobs, preparation of technical specifications, and vendor reviews based on project requirements. Your technical expertise should encompass a detailed understanding of equipment layouts, calculations, and Solar PV Power Plants. You are expected to have knowledge of National and International Codes and Standards, interpret contractual technical requirements, and facilitate project teams when necessary. Furthermore, you should have a good grasp of interdisciplinary design aspects related to civil, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation requirements. In terms of your operating network, you will collaborate internally with the Head of Engineering, Section Heads, Design Engineers, Draughts Persons, Operations Team, Site Execution team, and Supply Chain Management team. Externally, you will engage with clients, consultants, and vendors to ensure project requirements are met effectively. Key performance indicators for your role include on-time delivery, productivity enhancement, digitalization, risk identification and mitigation, cost control, quality control, customer satisfaction, optimization of layouts, standardization, value engineering, and innovation. Software skills required for this role include PVsyst, PVcase, and MS Office.
