Content Writer

We at Wits Innovation Lab are hiring Sr. Technical Writer with the following skillset:

Key Responsibilities: Sr. Technical Writer Responsibilities
Creates, develops, writes, and edits operational and instructional documents to support the end-users of company products; ensures that documents conform to existing department style guidelines and quality assurance standards

Follows instructions from team checklists, specifications, trademark and branding guidance, SOPs, and other documents to produce high quality deliverables
Conducts interviews with technical staff and other functional groups to gather information for projects while managing the creation, review, and final updates to deliverablesProvides appropriate inputs required by department illustrators to create illustrations and artwork for final documentsLearns and applies established conventions and workflows for developing and handling content in the CCMSAssists with transfer/conversion of non-XML content to XML in CCMSRevises existing documents to support product changesParticipates in peer reviews of individual work and that of other team membersPrepares translation requests with a complete list of target languages; packages source files for translation and redlines with clear translation instructionsReceives translations, reviews them for accuracy and completeness, and then processes and secures files for review/approval/archival in SAP and for publicationCreates a LIT spreadsheet detailing project deliverables and their relationships to one another, shares this with the specialist responsible for release of literature, and archives the LIT spreadsheet on the teams SharePoint siteEffectively manages multiple projects and associated deliverables required for product launch as well as for testing, preliminary builds, or regulatory submissionExplores opportunities for using approved Generative AI tools to support standard work

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Bachelors degree in Technical Communication or related field of study preferred5+ years of experience in technical writingProven writing and editing skills, with excellent attention to detailProven ability to adjust writing style and content according to audience needs, including clinicians/operators, technicians and engineers, and patients or home usersProficiency with commonly used XML authoring and non-XML publishing tools (oXygen, Adobe Technical Communication Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Word)Working knowledge of Technical Communication practices, techniques, and standardsFamiliarity with document production processes for print, CD, and web-based publicationCommitment to collaboration and open communication with manager and teamWillingness to stretch and qualify for special roles and responsibilities on the team
