Position Summary: The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers, providing excellent customer service, maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology, a friendly and outgoing personality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Greet customers as they enter the bar area. Take beverage orders from customers and servers. Serve drinks promptly and efficiently. Engage with customers, answer questions, and provide recommendations on drink selections. Resolve customer complaints and ensure satisfaction. Drink Preparation: Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customer preferences. Check identification to ensure customers meet age requirements for alcohol consumption. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the restaurant’s beverage offerings, including beer, wine, and cocktails. Bar Maintenance: Keep the bar area clean and organised at all times. Wash and sterilise glassware, utensils, and equipment. Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies. Monitor and maintain an adequate supply of all ingredients and products. Ensure proper storage and handling of all beverages and ingredients. Compliance and Safety: Follow all health and safety regulations. Ensure responsible alcohol service and intervene when necessary. Report any equipment issues or hazards to management. Adhere to cash handling procedures and manage the bar’s cash register. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen and wait staff to ensure efficient service. Assist in training new bar staff. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive team environment. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a bartender or in a similar role. Extensive knowledge of drink recipes, mixology, and bartending techniques. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong organisational and time management skills. Must be of legal age to serve alcohol. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
