Associate Data Science

An exciting opportunity awaits you as an associate data scientist at Argus Media in Mumbai. Join our expanding Data Science team and collaborate with fellow data scientists, guided by the Head of Data Science India and our global teams. Your primary responsibility will be to support the development of new analytics products, with a specific focus on Petrochemicals. Your role will involve building impactful data science solutions for various business use cases. This will entail conducting research on large, complex data sets to identify meaningful patterns, and utilizing mathematical and computational techniques to clean, manipulate, organize, and model data for actionable insights. You will apply innovative data science, machine learning, and statistical techniques to provide unbiased and quantitative solutions to critical business problems. As an integral part of the team, you will develop, structure, and explore ideas by formulating hypotheses, conducting rigorous testing, performing analyses, creating user prototypes, facilitating UAT, and presenting recommendations for enhancing current business processes. Additionally, you will design user-centric data science/analytics products based on unique business use cases for both internal and external stakeholders, focusing on commodity price dynamics. Key qualifications for this role include a degree in mathematics, finance, statistics, engineering, computer science, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in statistics, regression, time series, and econometrics. You should possess 1-2 years of hands-on experience with R and R-Shiny, along with a strong command of SQL and a dedication to open-source solutions. Familiarity with APIs, ETL processes, testing methodologies, exploratory data analysis, and data visualization is essential. We are seeking individuals with a solution-oriented mindset, self-direction, and experience in using version control software.
