Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Operations Management

  • Ensure seamless daily operations of the chicken processing facility.
  • Optimize plant throughput while maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor processing timelines and achieve standard yield targets.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure all production activities adhere to food safety standards (HACCP, FSSAI, ISO, USDA, etc.).
  • Oversee execution of SOPs across hygiene, slaughtering, processing, chilling, and packaging.
  • Coordinate with QA teams for regular audits, documentation, and compliance actions.

Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Manage live bird intake planning in coordination with sourcing/farm teams.
  • Liaise with procurement, logistics, and cold storage for smooth inventory flow.
  • Monitor stock levels and implement controls to reduce losses and wastage.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Lead and supervise supervisors, operators, and contract labour workforce.
  • Train staff on GMP, safety, and process optimization.
  • Monitor shift efficiency, discipline, and resolve manpower issues proactively.

Maintenance & Equipment Efficiency

  • Ensure all processing equipment is operational and well-maintained.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and breakdown-related actions.
  • Track utility usage (water, electricity, refrigerants) and minimize downtime.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Enforce biosecurity, worker safety protocols, and PPE compliance.
  • Ensure legal and internal compliance with waste disposal and effluent management.
  • Conduct periodic safety training and accident prevention drills.

Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Monitor operational budgets including labour, utilities, and consumables.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality or compliance.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Generate and analyze daily/weekly/monthly reports for production KPIs.
  • Track key metrics such as yield %, downtime, rejections, mortality, and productivity.

    Role & responsibilities

Preferred candidate profile

  • Qualification:

    B.Tech / Diploma in Food Technology / Meat Science / Mechanical / Industrial / Production or related field.
  • Experience:

    510 years in poultry/chicken processing; exposure to automated lines preferred.
  • Skills:

    Strong leadership, decision-making, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Knowledge:

    Familiarity with food safety standards, labour laws, and operational metrics.
