Job Description

Key Skills:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of new aerospace products from concept to production.
  • Ensure products meet internal and customer quality standards through all stages of development.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and customers for successful execution of engineering projects.
  • Plan and allocate resources based on project complexity and timelines.
  • Interpret customer requirements, review drawings, and create engineering documentation (BOM, QP, PFC, FMEA, etc.).
  • Support APQP processes through development of FMEA, control plans, flow charts, validation plans, and timing charts.
  • Drive continuous improvement through technical guidance, audits, and internal reviews.
  • Handle NADCAP audit readiness and compliance for wire harness processes.
  • Perform engineering change management and secure customer approvals for major deviations.
  • Review and finalize BOMs, technical change matrices (TCM), and investment lists.
  • Ensure effective communication with customers regarding new projects and clarifications.
  • Track, monitor, and report project progress through tools like Touchbase.
  • Lead pilot production phases and ensure successful technology transfer to production.
  • Validate dispatched samples with customer and oversee APQP document release for mass production.
  • Review and implement CFT (Cross-Functional Team) feedback to enhance product quality and performance.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Number of projects approved in the first attempt
  • Projects delivered within agreed timelines
  • Quality benchmarks achieved post initial production batches
  • Actual vs. budgeted project expenditure
  • Achievement of NPD sales targets
  • Engineering compliance in QMS audits
  • Status of active projects in Touchbase
  • Resolution rate of production-related issues
  • Implementation of customer-requested changes
  • Number of Continuous Improvement Projects (CIPs) completed

Skills Required:

  • Experience with cable harnesses and cabinet assembly.
  • Familiar with NADCAP audits and APQP processes.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and BOM.
  • Experience with FMEA and SAP.
  • Experience in managing projects and leading a team.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and manage requirements.
  • Good with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project management tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards and audits.
