Apparel Designer & Merchandiser

As an Apparel Designer & Merchandiser specializing in Kidswear with over 5 years of experience, you will be based in Gurgaon, India, and work full-time in the field of Fashion & Textile Design. Your role will involve traveling as required. In this position, you will be responsible for leading seasonal collections for kids aged 0-12, ensuring that each piece resonates with the brand's personality and commercial vision. This includes designing seasonal collections and capsule lines, creating mood boards, color palettes, and trend presentations, as well as preparing detailed tech packs, flat sketches, and fabric specifications. Collaboration with sourcing and production teams for prototyping and approvals will also be part of your responsibilities. In terms of merchandising, you will develop merchandise plans based on sales trends and consumer insights, optimize product assortment, pricing, and SKU mix, as well as manage timelines from design to production and product launch. Additionally, you will analyze performance data and provide recommendations for collection improvements. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in kidswear design and merchandising. A strong portfolio showcasing original work and commercially successful collections is required, along with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and Excel. Knowledge of children's safety standards, fit, and material functionality is also essential. Preferred skills include experience with export markets (US/UK), familiarity with sustainable design practices, an understanding of e-commerce merchandising, and strong communication and vendor management capabilities.
