We are seeking an experienced Android Automotive Uplifting Engineer to support the transition and upgrade of legacy infotainment systems or AOSP platforms to newer versions of Android Automotive OS (AAOS). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Android platform bring-up, BSP modification, and version migration. Responsibilities Analyze existing Android-based IVI/AAOS platforms and plan uplift/migration to target Android versions. Work on Board Support Package (BSP) layers, HALs, and device tree configurations for new SoCs. Collaborate with SoC vendors, middleware teams, and application developers to validate integration. Resolve issues during the uplift process including boot time, compatibility, performance, and regression issues. Customize and configure the AOSP build system, product flavors, and OTA mechanisms. Support certification and compliance testing (Google Automotive Services, VTS, CTS, etc.). Qualifications Bachelor\u2019s/Master\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field. Essential skills Strong experience with Android platform development (AOSP, HAL, BSP). In-depth knowledge of Linux internals and embedded Android systems. Experience in porting Android OS across versions (e.g., Android 10 12/13/14). Familiarity with version control systems (Git), Jira, and Gerrit. Good understanding of SoC bring-up and board-level debugging. Experience with automotive software processes (ASPICE, ISO 26262) is a plus. Develop Android applications and services tailored for automotive use cases (Media, Navigation, HVAC, etc.). Customize system services and implement features using Android frameworks and APIs. Integrate third-party applications and services with AAOS. Optimize application performance, memory, and power consumption in automotive scenarios. Ensure compliance with automotive safety and quality standards. Experience with Android Automotive OS APIs and HMI design patterns. Familiarity with vehicle HAL, CAN interfaces, or Android Car API is an added advantage. Experience 4\u20138 years of relevant experience in Android Automotive OS or embedded Android development.
