Job Purpose

A Seaman is an important member of the ship's crew responsible for supporting the deck officers in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.obeying all lawful commands.They perform a variety of tasks related to the ship's deck, passenger operation, and deck maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

Deck Maintenance:

• Keeping the ship's deck clean and tidy.
• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Assisting in the upkeep of deck equipment.
• Handling stores, garbage as directed.

Mooring and Unmooring:

• Handling lines during mooring and unmooring operations.
• Assisting in anchoring and weighing anchor.
• Ensuring the ship is securely moored or anchored.

Emergency Response:

• Participating in emergency drills and training.
• Responding to emergencies according to shipboard procedures.
• Assisting in evacuation procedures if necessary.

General Deck Duties:

• Assisting deck officers in various tasks as required.
• Following safety procedures and regulations.
• Contributing to a positive and safe working environment.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

• Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of departments systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:

• Navigational watch keeping.
• International Medical Certificate
• Fire Fighting
• Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats
• Proficiency of Security Awareness.
• Safety Training for Personnel Providing Direct Services to Passenger in Passenger Spaces
• Passenger Safety, Cargo Safety and Hull Integrity Training
• Crowd Management Training
• Crisis Management and Human Behavior Training
• Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
• Personal Survival techniques search and rescue.

Experience:

• 2 Years Experience.

Skills

• Basic seamanship:

  Knowledge of knots, lines, and basic navigation.

• Maintenance:

  Basic understanding of ship maintenance tasks.

• Safety awareness:

  Understanding of maritime safety regulations and procedures.

• Emergency response:
