Job Description:
We are seeking a Unity Designer to join our Art Department and play a key role in shapingimmersive, realistic XR simulation environments. This position involves translatingstoryboards and concept designs into high-fidelity Unity scenes while ensuringperformance optimization for VR platforms. As a core part of the visual team, youll beresponsible for delivering compelling visual storytelling and realistic environments thatenhance the training and simulation experience.Responsibilities:Own the conversion of storyboards, concept art, and visual references intorealistic 3D environments within Unity.As a key member of the Art Department, define and maintain the visual directionacross multiple XR simulation modules.Design immersive and visually rich environments while ensuring real-timeperformance for targeted VR headsets such as Vive Pro and Meta Quest.Set up and fine-tune lighting (real-time and baked), post-processing effects, andscene composition for realism and immersion.Import, place, and optimize 3D assets to ensure smooth rendering and memoryefficiency.Create intuitive spatial UI/UX for VR using Unitys Canvas and UI Toolkit systems.Collaborate with the development team to align environment design withsimulation logic and interaction systems.Participate in internal reviews and iterate designs based on user feedback,performance profiling, and simulation goals.Ensure visual consistency and quality across all scenes through clear documentationand adherence to the art style guide.Requirements:Proficiency in Unity 3D with a strong portfolio focused on XR environments andvisual storytelling.Ability to interpret storyboards and design references and implement them asoptimized, realistic Unity scenes.Hands-on experience with Unitys lighting systems, rendering pipelines(URP/HDRP), and post-processing.Understanding of performance optimization for VR, including light baking, LODsystems, occlusion culling, and texture compression.Experience in 3D asset handling importing, organizing, and optimizing forUnity-based workflows.Familiarity with environment-level animation, particle systems, and shader tuning.Strong grasp of VR design principles, spatial UI/UX, and interaction feedback forimmersive applications.Ability to communicate design intent and collaborate with developers, leads, and 3Dartists.Preferred Skills:Experience working with XR frameworks like Unity XR Toolkit or OpenXR.Knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Photoshop, or Blender for visualplanning and asset adjustments.Familiarity with performance profiling tools and shader debugging.Exposure to Agile workflows and version control systems (e.g., Git).Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits.Be part of cutting-edge XR simulation projects with national-level impact.Work in a collaborative, design-driven environment within a passionate XR team.Continuous learning and skill development with mentorship and project exposure.
