Warehouse Operative

• A Warehouse Operator is responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods within a warehouse. This role involves receiving, storing, and shipping products, as well as operating warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
• They also play a key part in inventory management, order fulfillment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Receiving and Processing: Handling incoming shipments, inspecting items for damage, and verifying documentation.
• Storage and Organization: Properly storing goods, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring efficient warehouse layout.
• Order Fulfillment: Picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment, often using order picking equipment.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
• Inventory Management: Conducting cycle counts, reconciling inventory, and reporting discrepancies.
• Safety and Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety regulations, and reporting any equipment malfunctions.
• Teamwork and Communication: Collaborating with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
• Loading and Unloading: Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, often using machinery.
• Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Physical Stamina: Warehouse work can be physically demanding, requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial for tasks like inventory management, order fulfillment, and verifying shipments.
• Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating warehouse machinery, such as forklifts, is often required.
• Inventory Management: Experience in tracking inventory, performing cycle counts, and resolving discrepancies.
• Teamwork and Communication: The ability to work effectively with others and communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent: Often a minimum educational requirement.
• Forklift Certification: May be required for operating forklifts.
