Role & responsibilities To lead and execute supplier development initiatives for forging and casting machined components, ensuring supplier capability, quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. The candidate must possess deep technical and commercial expertise in casting and forging procurement, process knowledge, and supplier management. Responsibilities : Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for machined casting and forging components for oil & gas and engineering applications. Drive sourcing activities for materials including Cast Iron, Low Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Duplex, and Super Duplex . Assess and onboard suppliers with capabilities in sand molding, gravity die casting, and investment casting processes. Develop and maintain a robust supplier database (India and global) for both castings and forgings. Evaluate suppliers for forging processes such as closed die and open die forging . Conduct should-cost analysis for components and validate supplier cost structures. Lead technical and commercial negotiations , aligning with organizational cost targets and quality standards. Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams for APQP, PPAP, and NPD activities involving forged and cast parts. Monitor supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, and responsiveness. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA) for supplier-related issues. Drive cost saving initiatives through VA/VE, process improvements, and alternate sourcing strategies. Preferred candidate profile Strong knowledge of casting and forging processes , manufacturing methods, and material properties. Hands-on experience in sourcing machined components from casting and forging routes. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. Strong analytical abilities including cost estimation, root cause analysis, and data-based decision-making . High-level problem-solving , critical thinking , and judgment skills.
