Textile Designer

As a talented and passionate Textile Designer, you will have the opportunity to join our team and showcase your love for creating unique textile designs. In this role, you will closely work with weaver communities to bring your creative vision to life. Your responsibilities will include analyzing current fashion trends, colors, and materials to develop seasonal concepts that align with the brand's vision and target market. You will be tasked with exploring and experimenting with new weaving techniques to ensure a harmonious blend of traditional methods and contemporary design elements. Collaborating with weaving communities will be a key aspect of your role, where you will design and develop innovative fabrics and textile products. Additionally, you will create innovative prints and patterns for collections, source fabrics, and maintain a strong knowledge of various textiles and their applications. To further enhance your designs, you will travel to different regions to connect with artisans, source materials, and draw inspiration. Your expertise will be utilized in creating textured and three-dimensional surface effects on textiles through techniques such as pleating, fabric manipulation, layering, or fabric treatments to enhance visual and tactile appeal. Moreover, you will develop detailed contemporary embroidery motifs and patterns using hand and machine embroidery techniques, as well as design and develop contemporary fabrics that incorporate weaving techniques, surface manipulations, and embroidery to create unique textures and visual effects. Working closely with dyers, weavers, embroidery karigars, and designers, you will bring your design vision to life. To qualify for this role, you should possess a Degree in Textile Design from NIFT or NID and have a minimum of 2 years of experience in textile design, preferably in weaving and embroidery. A strong understanding of fabrics, weaving techniques, surface manipulation, and embroidery is essential, along with a creative mindset, keen eye for detail and color, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to travel and work with artisans and communities.
