Roles and Responsibilities Review surgical procedures performed by surgeons to determine accurate coding and classification according to industry standards (CPT, ICD-10). Identify and code all components of a procedure accurately using established guidelines and regulations. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for proper coding and billing practices. Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or questions related to coding assignments. Desired Candidate Profile 1-4 years of experience as a Surgery Coder or Medical Coder with certification from an accredited organization such as AAPC or AHIMA. Strong understanding of general surgery principles and practices; knowledge of specific surgical specialties preferred. Proficiency in CPC certification examination required; ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date if not already held.
