Supervisor Trainee – Manufacturing Unit (knowledge in Welding, Turning & Fitting)

Job Description:

We are looking for a technically skilled and motivated Supervisor Trainee to join our manufacturing operations team. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in welding, turning, and mechanical fitting, and a desire to grow into a leadership role. This trainee role is designed to provide on-the-job learning and leadership development to prepare the candidate for a future supervisory or team lead position in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the supervision of daily shop floor activities, especially in welding, machining (turning), and mechanical fitting sections.
• Learn to allocate work, monitor operator performance, and manage shift schedules and manpower.
• Assist in overseeing weld quality, machining accuracy, and assembly fitment based on engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Participate in quality inspections, and help implement corrective actions for process deviations or defects.
• Monitor material flow and availability, and coordinate with stores and planning teams for job readiness.
• Maintain production records, daily shift reports, and operator logs under supervisor guidance.
• Ensure adherence to workplace safety protocols, 5S practices, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Learn to lead a small team and resolve day-to-day technical and operational challenges.

Skills & Competencies:

• Working knowledge of:

o Welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc)

o Lathe/turning machine operations

o Mechanical fitting and assembly

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, symbols, and dimensions.
• Strong communication, leadership potential, and a problem-solving attitude.
• Basic understanding of shop floor documentation, quality checks, and production planning.
• Willingness to work in shifts and on the shop floor in an industrial setting.

Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Fitter, or Welding Technology.
• 1–2 years of relevant hands-on experience in a manufacturing/fabrication unit preferred.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical skills and workshop/lab exposure are also welcome.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
