Industrial Electrician – Cashew Processing Unit Location: SUN THERMO PROCESS, THIRUVANAMALAI Department: Maintenance / Engineering Reporting To: Maintenance Supervisor / Factory Manager Key Responsibilities: 1. Electrical Maintenance & Repair o Perform routine and preventive maintenance of electrical systems. o Diagnose and repair faults in machines such as boilers, cookers, shelling machines, dryers, grading machines, and sorters. o Maintain lighting, wiring, motor panels, and control systems. 2. Machine Installation o Support installation and electrical setup of new processing machinery and conveyor systems. o Ensure proper grounding and power ratings as per machine requirement. 3. Troubleshooting o Quickly respond to machine breakdowns or electrical faults to minimize downtime. o Use testing devices (multimeter, clamp meter, etc.) to identify faults. 4. Safety & Compliance o Ensure all electrical work is done in compliance with safety standards (e.g., IS, IEC). o Keep all equipment earthed and insulated properly. o Regularly inspect wiring, control panels, and breaker systems. 5. Documentation & Reporting o Maintain logbooks for maintenance activities. o Record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules and fault history. 6. Coordination o Work closely with production, mechanical maintenance, and quality teams. o Assist in energy audits and electrical system upgrades. Qualifications & Skills: ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a food or cashew processing industry preferred. Knowledge of motors, starters, VFDs, and PLC basics is desirable. Ability to read electrical diagrams and control schematics. Understanding of safety standards and PPE usage. Team player with quick decision-making ability.
