Sr Manager - Global IP and Ethernet Engineering

You will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, and enhancing engineering solutions and services riding on network layers such as CDN, Enterprise, Ethernet, IP, Wireless, Mobile Broadband, etc. Your objective will be to provide efficient, secure, cost-effective, and differentiated services and solutions to customers in the respective areas of Network/SDWAN/Cloud & security/Unified Collaboration/Mobility & IoT. You will own the process on different stages such as concept, design, testing, and implementation that will improve the performance and reliability of systems. This is a tactical role contributing to defining the direction of the operating plans based on the business strategy, with a significant mid-term impact on business unit overall results. Your responsibilities will include identifying key engineering initiatives based on customer requirements, new applications, and services, and assessing technical/infrastructure feasibility with the products team. You will be involved in product evaluation, solution architecture designing and testing, and roll-out plan for existing and new services, including designing tools needed for the operation of these new services and systems. Gathering requirements, preparing architecture design, conducting technical & cost feasibility study, implementing, and resolving issues to meet timelines & customer requirements will also be part of your role. You will be responsible for developing, designing, and maintaining all systems including storage, load balancers, servers, and routers/switches. Developing tools to proactively monitor system aspects such as utilization of backbone, alerts taking place, supporting presales in solutioning, supporting service delivery, ongoing monitoring, and maintenance will be part of your responsibilities. Defining work process flow between different functions for new implementations, existing support, and tracking, defining parameters and guidelines with respect to tracking, data management for the NOC team, and evaluating and validating new technologies to improve customer satisfaction will also be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will review escalations to support service assurance during service and system issues, define resolution mechanisms to prevent the recurrence of escalations, evaluate vendors for outsourcing requirements, engage with regulatory bodies to monitor and discuss compliances and requirements for existing and new services, review utilization and capacity trends along with sales forecast, and evaluate and plan infrastructure augmentation projects. Leading optimization and efficiency projects will also be one of your responsibilities.
