Creation of FEMs using geometric data from part & assembly drawings Sizing of primary and secondary parts for static and fatigue requirements. Fastener load extraction and joint analysis. RF calculation for different failure modes such as strength, buckling, shear panel failure, damage tolerance etc. Low RF mitigations using classical or numerical methods. Sogeclair Rail Simulation branch (formerly known as Oktal Sydac) develops train simulators used by railways companies to train their drivers. The simulator is a distributed hardware and software real-time system. One of the software components of the simulator is the Vision System. The Vision system computes and displays motion pictures in realtime from the output of the models involved in the simulation, to provide to the driver of a train simulator a synthetic but realistic rendering of its environment (lines, signals, passengers, crossing trains, cars, landscape, hazards, etc), in any situation (weather, backlight in sunset, night, brutal brightness change in tunnels, ). Vision software is based on Unigine engine (with our proprietary libraries developed in C++ integrated), and the Vision hardware tailor made for each project. Vision software is developed within the core Product team The 3D content (3D assets and 3D world) is developed by our 3D graphics team using the 3D World edition suite delivered by our core Product team. The product team is organized in Agile workflow. Its team members are involved in all phases of development. This includes design, development, unit testing, integrated testing and support. Responsibilities: Undertake activities related to the design and development of Vision software and the 3D world edition tool suite as part of the core Product team. Demonstrate the ability to comprehend, create and debug C++ and C# modules Use and enhance a range of Unigine tools Operate complex simulators combining virtual and physical elements Update methods documents, technical and functional documentation Set clear self (in consultation with supervisor) goals and KPIs. Skills: Hand on experience in plant developing in Unigine or Unreal engines (3D environment, Blueprint, code, etc.). Hand on experience in plant modelling using C++ and C#. Experience of working on projects involving Distributed Software Systems design and development will be highly preferable Understanding of key concepts in computer graphics and virtual reality technology. Skills in 3D mathematics (e.g. matrix/vector mathematics) Experience analyzing requirements and developing designs that meet requirements Knowledge of software design principles, including the use of UML Ability to work within an Agile workflow Problem solving skills Ability to diagnose and debug software problems. Experience in using 3D modelling tools like 3D Studio Max, Maya or Blender is desirable.
