Job Description

Role Summary: We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our SaaS product engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in PHP, experience working with AWS microservices (e.g., Lambda, SQS), and a track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable code. You will be responsible for end-to-end feature implementation, task ownership, and contributing to continuous improvement across the development process. Key Responsibilities: 1. Development & Implementation Write clean, efficient, and modular code using PHP. Build scalable backend features based on business and product requirements. Ensure adherence to architectural standards and coding guidelines. 2. Task Understanding & Estimation Analyze task scope, dependencies, and business impact. Break down complex tasks into smaller components. Provide accurate time and effort estimates. 3. Task Execution & Timely Updates Maintain regular task updates on Jira or equivalent tools. Proactively flag issues or blockers in advance. Ensure timely delivery of sprint commitments. 4. Code Quality & Maintainability Write testable and well-documented code. Conduct self-reviews and participate in peer code reviews. Follow Git best practices including branching and commit conventions. 5. Collaboration & Cross-Team Communication Collaborate closely with QA, Product Managers, and fellow developers. Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Share technical insights and contribute to team discussions. 6. Issue Management & Debugging Debug and resolve reported issues effectively. Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions. 7. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing Maintain clear documentation for APIs, database changes, and workflows. Contribute to team knowledge bases and lead knowledge-sharing sessions. 8. Project Management Compliance Keep all Jira (or PM tool) tasks updated with clear descriptions and comments. Close tasks with proper documentation and acceptance criteria fulfilled. Required Skills & Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in backend development. Strong proficiency in PHP (Laravel, Symfony, or similar frameworks). Experience with AWS microservices, especially Lambda, SQS, SNS, and API Gateway. Proven experience in building and maintaining SaaS products. Solid understanding of RESTful API design and relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL). Familiarity with writing unit and integration tests. Strong knowledge of Git workflows. Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
