Social Media Intern

About the Role:

We're seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and digitally savvy Social Media Intern to join our dynamic team and help us level up our social media game! This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter with a passion for social media to contribute to all aspects of our online presence, from brainstorming innovative content ideas to executing and analyzing their impact. You will gain hands-on experience in content creation, copywriting, visual storytelling, and social media strategy. Responsibilities:

Content Ideation & Strategy:

• Brainstorm and develop creative and engaging content ideas aligned with our brand and marketing goals.
• Research current social media trends, competitor activities, and audience preferences to identify opportunities for growth.
• Contribute to the development of social media calendars and content plans.
• Content Writing & Copywriting:
• Write compelling and engaging social media captions, posts, stories, and other relevant content across various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
• Ensure all content is grammatically correct, on-brand, and adheres to platform best practices.

Content Creation (Visual):

• Shoot high-quality photo and video content using smartphones or other available equipment.
• Edit photos and videos to create visually appealing and engaging content for various social media formats (e.g., stories, reels, posts, etc.).
• Basic graphic design skills to create simple visuals and templates (e.g., using Canva).
• Social Media Management & Execution:
• Assist in scheduling and publishing content across different social media platforms.
• Engage with our online community by responding to comments and messages.
• Monitor social media channels for brand mentions and relevant conversations.
• Performance Analysis & Reporting:
• Assist in tracking and analyzing social media performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, impressions).
• Contribute to the preparation of basic performance reports and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Demonstrated passion for social media and a strong understanding of various social media platforms and their functionalities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a knack for creative and engaging copywriting.
• Proven ability to shoot and edit high-quality photo and video content using smartphones or basic equipment and editing software/apps.
• Basic understanding of graphic design principles and familiarity with design tools like Canva is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills with a proactive and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Should know how to shoot pictures and videos.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience managing social media accounts for personal projects or organizations.
• Familiarity with social media scheduling tools.
• Basic knowledge of SEO principles.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your content creation skills (writing samples, photos, videos, etc.).
