Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Shopify Store Development & Customization:

• Develop and customize Shopify themes from scratch or by modifying existing themes (e.g., Dawn theme) to align with client branding and requirements.
• Implement responsive designs to ensure optimal viewing and functionality across various devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using HTML, CSS (Sass/SCSS), JavaScript (jQuery, vanilla JS, modern frameworks like React), and Liquid (Shopify's templating language).
• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality Shopify storefronts.

• Feature Enhancement & Functionality:

• Integrate and configure third-party Shopify apps and APIs to extend store functionality (e.g., payment gateways, shipping providers, marketing tools, review apps, CRM systems).
• Develop custom Shopify apps or functionalities to meet specific business needs.
• Customize checkout flows and product pages to optimize conversion rates.

• Performance & Optimization:

• Optimize Shopify stores for speed, performance, and scalability (e.g., image optimization, code minification, lazy loading, reducing Liquid render times).
• Implement SEO best practices (meta tags, structured data, alt text, clean URLs) to improve search engine visibility and organic traffic.
• Debug and troubleshoot technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.

• Collaboration & Communication:

• Collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, marketing specialists, and clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Maintenance & Support:

• Provide ongoing maintenance, updates, and support for existing Shopify stores.
• Stay updated with the latest Shopify features, trends, and best practices in e-commerce development.
• Ensure website security and compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience:

  3-5 years of experience as a Shopify Developer or in a similar front-end web development role with a strong focus on e-commerce.

• Technical Proficiency:

• Expertise in

  HTML5, CSS3 (Sass/SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+, jQuery).

• Strong command of

  Liquid

  , Shopify's templating language.
• Experience with

  Shopify APIs

  (Storefront API, Admin API) and integrating third-party services.
• Familiarity with

  version control systems (Git/GitHub).

• Understanding of responsive web design principles and mobile-first development.

• Shopify Ecosystem Knowledge:

• In-depth understanding of the Shopify platform, including its architecture, limitations, and best practices.
• Experience with Shopify theme development and customization.
• Knowledge of Shopify CLI for theme development and deployment.

• E-commerce Principles:

• Understanding of e-commerce best practices, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI) design principles.
• Familiarity with conversion rate optimization (CRO) techniques.
• Basic knowledge of SEO principles as they apply to e-commerce.

• Problem-Solving:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and resolve complex issues efficiently.

• Communication:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Education:

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Bonus Points (Nice to Have):

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) for headless Shopify implementations.
• Knowledge of other e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, WooCommerce).
• Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Photoshop) for slicing assets or basic design adjustments.
• Experience with A/B testing and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
