Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all mechanical systems and equipment within the manufacturing plant (e.g., pumps, compressors, conveyors, fans, valves, piping, utility systems).
Perform routine and preventive maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
Diagnose mechanical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Coordinate and supervise contractors or technicians during repairs, overhauls, and project work.
Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Monitor spare parts inventory and raise requisitions for timely procurement.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Prepare maintenance reports, work logs, and equipment history records.
Assist in planning and executing shutdowns, overhauls, and new equipment installations.
Collaborate with other engineering teams (electrical, instrumentation) and production teams for smooth plant operations.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, rotating machinery, and utility systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
Good understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
Problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Good communication and team coordination skills.

Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
4–7 years (or as required) of experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
Experience with Maximo or any CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is an advantage.
