About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated (performance) engineer to join a team focusing on assessing and improving the performance of Jenkins and CloudBees CI, our Jenkins-based product.

What Youll Do

Contribute to Jenkins, a software used by thousands of developers across the world.
Develop and maintain CloudBees products built on Jenkins.
Learn the internals of Jenkins and its plugin system.
Work within a new team with interesting opportunities.
Work with security related issues while receiving security coaching.
Actively participate in the prioritization of the task for the team.
Undertake ambitious refactoring projects to keep CloudBees products current
Our Engineering teams are distributed by design. You can work from the offices or remotely without feeling disconnected.

Requirements

Kubernetes / kubectl tool
Google Cloud / gcloud tool
Helm
GKE / EKS
Terraform / Language
Gatling / Jmeter
Java
Docker / How to build docker images
Good knowledge of Git and Maven
Profiling / profile analysis (heap / cpu )
Autonomy, curiosity, desire to learn
You can identify trade-offs to various implementations and can make decisions about which solution would be best for a given situation
Proficiency using CI/CD tools (Jenkins is a plus)
