Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of hands-on experience in Mechanical piping design, engineering, and project management within the Water Infrastructure, oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or related industries. The candidate will be responsible for leading piping engineering activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality solutions for complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage piping engineering activities for large-scale projects from concept to commissioning.
• Prepare and review piping design calculations, material specifications, and layout drawings.
• Oversee the development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and 3D models.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including process, civil, structural, and instrumentation engineers.
• Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (ASME, API, ANSI, etc.), and client specifications.
• Review and approve vendor documents, technical bids, and material requisitions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Participate in HAZOP, design reviews, and constructability assessments.
• Resolve technical issues during construction, commissioning, and operation phases.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and third-party inspectors as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10-15 years of relevant experience in piping engineering, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of piping materials, stress analysis, and piping design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS, CAESAR II, SmartPlant).
• Strong understanding of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, etc.).
• Proven experience in leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
