Job Description

Preferred candidate profile

We are seeking an experienced APO-ABAP Consultant to support the migration from standalone APO to embedded PP/DS in S/4HANA.

The role involves redesigning custom code, optimizing integration logic, and aligning planning processes with the new embedded architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and redesign APO custom developments (/SAPAPO/*) for embedded PP/DS.
Remediate or retire obsolete function modules, BAPIs, and planning enhancements.
Adapt or replace CIF-related interfaces as CIF becomes internal in S/4HANA.
Work with functional teams to align planning logic (heuristics, pegging, optimizer).
Validate planning results, performance, and data consistency post-migration.
Support SPDD/SPAU activities and upgrade impact assessments.

Must-Have Skills:

5+ years ABAP experience, including 1-2 years in APO-ABAP (especially PP/DS).
Strong knowledge of CIF enhancements, planning books, macros, and planning engine logic.
Experience in S/4HANA technical upgrades or greenfield embedded PP/DS projects.
Ability to analyze and refactor custom developments for S/4 compatibility.

Preferred:

Hands-on experience in embedded PP/DS (S/4HANA 2020 or later).
Familiarity with Fiori apps, CDS views, and new planning tools.
Exposure to ATC findings, simplification items, and Readiness Check outputs.
